Our story

Tonic serves American style comfort food with a twist! From burgers to pizzas to tater tots loaded with toppings there is something for everyone. Featuring local beers and craft cocktails with three bars and two outdoor seating spaces. Tonic is located in the Foggy Bottom neighborhood on the GWU campus.

To our valued guests: As a way to help offset rising costs associated with running this neighborhood restaurant (initiative 82 cost, labor, benefits, food cost, supply chain issues, credit card fees and rewards, etc.) we have added a 3.75% surcharge to all checks. We hope many of these increases are temporary, so they are not being added directly to the menu prices. This fee is not a gratuity. You may request to have this taken off your check, should you choose.

This is my second time back. I got the Memphis bbq burger and tots and for the second round the same. This time instead of to go I decided to sit at the bar and eat and drink. I got an ameretto sour (simple drink I know) and my burger. The waiter was attentive and fun to talk to. My food was hot and delicious and the shredded pork and onion ring was really good with the burger. I also got the funnel cake sticks and that dipping sauce is really good. My coworker got the wings and a beer and of course I tried a wing and it was well cooked and seasoned! Will be back again. Great lunch spot

An old favorite spot. You have to get the tater tots with curry ketchup. Super good especially when the tots are made just right. Jerk chicken wings were okay I would get a different flavor. Turkey wrap is good and so is the blood orange cider. Good quick service and obviously young environment.
